Our journey begins in May 17, 1740 in Baumholder Germany where Conrad Böhmer is born, son of Johan Sebation Böhmer and Ann Margarethe Klein. Later, as a young man, he wed Juliana on 3 October 1765. Their first child Juliana was born in 1766 and Margaret followed in 1767.Later in the year, Conrad and Juliana decided like many other Germans to seek their fortune in a new land. They along with some 300 other passengers, boarded the good ship Hamilton and landed in Pennsylvania in October 1767. Another passenger named Frederich Böhmer is also listed after Conrad. Chances are very good that it is a relation, Conrad later named one his sons, Frederich. |
