François Gignac acquired his family homestead in the Cap-Sante village area around 1680.  As you can see by this sign (most homes had these plaques) Cap-Sante is celebrating it's 325 year founding.  Cap-Sante is located about 15 miles west of Neuville, continuing along the St. Lawrence Seaway.
