The original Gignac homestead was situated four lots to the right of this Morisette pioneer homestead.  We were unable to find the exact location of the Gignac farm but from early maps we examined -- it was very close to this homestead.  However, one can imagine that the Gignac homestead had a very similar view.  This picture was taken from the road (Chemin du Roy) and the house faces the St. Lawrence Seaway.  The village of Cap-Sante has encroached on the farm properties such that only the homes remain today.
