Exploring on foot back down to the old quarter. The dome of the Ursuline Monastery can be seen in the distance. Established in 1634 as a fur trading post, this industrious settlement was home to many great explorers, including Jean Nicolet and Nicolas Perrot. This city is halfway between Montreal and Quebec (approximately 50 miles). |
