Cemeteries - St. Agatha Catholic |

St. Agatha was founded in 1869, however, the original church and it's records were destroyed in the fires which burnt most of the thumb area in 1879. This "Cathedral in the Thumb" was built after the Young family left the area, around 1914. |

Note - many of the stones had not been cleaned in many years, if ever at all. We did photograph the markers prior to cleaning and upon advice from professionals, it was decided that the stones must be cleaned to prevent further corrosion and discolorization. Armed with our elbow grease and bird bath brush, most of the markers were washed in late October 2002, and photographed again. |

Frank Young's father and mother, and his wife's mother and father (Pines), are buried on the west side near the gravel road which bisects the cemetery. They are relatively close together but are not in the same family plot. |
