Day 1 - Ventured on to the beautiful Glenn Highway out of Anchorage and our first stopped was in Palmer to visit it's gardens and saunter through the flea market.  Next it was time to head to Chickaloon for our hike on the Matanuska Glacier.  We had driven by this glacier back in 2005 and was amazed at the sheer size of it.  This year we booked a tour to get a closer look and some amazing photos.  We were blessed with gorgeous sunshine --- what an awesome beginning to our Alaskan adventure!  photos
